Holistic Lipedema Method

This approach reflects a holistic vision of well-being and health, seamlessly combining advanced manual techniques with personalised lifestyle coaching.

A broad approach for optimal results

The strength of this method lies in a broad approach that takes a deeper approach that goes deeper than just the physical symptoms of lipedema, in order to not only provide relief, but also to lay a foundation for lasting health improvements. The patient's well-being is central to this, with the aim of promoting a life full of vitality and well-being, free from the pain that so often accompanies lipedema.

My mission is to empower you, to support you in the journey to self-acceptance, health and happiness. I strive for every woman to feel beautiful again, not limited by lipedema, and free to pursue and bring to life her most ambitious dreams.

1. The Golden Combination

Within the Holistic Lipedema Method I use a golden combination of two specialized massage techniques that complement each other to achieve results that were previously unattainable.

I focus our treatment on nourishing the body's innate self-healing ability. By applying unique massage techniques, I focus on the dense fat deposits which are characteristic of lipedema. These accumulations, intertwined between the layers of tissue, suffocate the circulatory and lymphatic systems and hinder their functions. In addition, they exert pressure on muscles, restrict movement and therefore lymphatic flow.

By skillfully manipulating these accumulations, I make room for the circulation system to function optimally again. This manipulation increases blood flow to the affected areas, allowing them to receive the oxygen and nutrients they so desperately need while facilitating the removal of waste. Also by strengthening the lymphatic system, we improve the body's ability to efficiently process and remove excess waste and fluid, which is essential for promoting a thorough and progressive recovery.

By adopting this synergistic approach, we achieve an integrated improvement in well-being, both internal and external, for a healthy body and a positive self-image.

2. Sustainable Diet: The Key to Real Nutrition

When I am asked about the ideal diet for lipedema, my response is consistent: "The diet that you can follow permanently." Statistics show that more than half of people who successfully lose weight regain the lost weight within a year, and often even more. After three years, this percentage is even between 85% and 95%. Maintaining a diet in the long term is therefore a challenge for many. For that reason, I prefer to talk about an "eating pattern" – a way of eating that actually feeds your body with essential nutrients.

My personal preference is for a plant-based diet, rich in fruit, which is crucial for supporting my body on a daily basis in dealing with lipedema. I choose a plate full of colorful, preferably organic, fruits and vegetables, enriched with whole grains, seeds, nuts, kernels and seaweed. These natural products require little energy to digest, but provide all the more energy. Limiting processed foods and choosing a diet with more carbohydrates and less fat helps me to function optimally.

Thus, the focus should be on choosing healthy foods over obsessively pursuing weight loss. Often, simply omitting unhealthy foods leads to weight loss as a natural consequence. Of course, you can opt for smaller portions or even macro tracking if you prefer. However, for a body that deals with the symptoms of lipedema on a daily basis, such as fat deposits and low-grade inflammation, getting healthy and nutritious food is the most crucial. This offers the body the best support in the fight against lipedema.

3. Active Recovery: The Power of Movement

Although our manual treatments can sometimes be intensive, finding the right form of rest is essential. Resting does not always mean sitting still; There is a lot to be gained from 'active recovery'. This involves recovering through low-impact activities such as walking, swimming, or yoga. These forms of exercise are particularly beneficial because they promote blood circulation and stimulate both physical and mental relaxation.

For someone with lipedema, it is crucial to maintain and promote mobility. Pilates is a personal favorite of mine for that. It is a form of movement that focuses on mobility and strength, and it helps to overcome the limitations that lipedema can bring. By integrating forms of movement such as Pilates and Yoga into your routine, you actively work on your recovery and support your body to stay strong and flexible.

4. The Unity of Body and Mind in the Fight Against Lipedema

When treating lipedema, we often focus primarily on the physical symptoms, but it is crucial not to underestimate the mental impact that the condition brings. An individual's emotional well-being is inextricably linked to the physical recovery process. Without addressing the mental aspects, we can lose sight of a full recovery.

My personal experience has taught me that an integrated approach is essential. That is why our treatment method includes more than just manual therapy; It is a holistic experience in which there is also room for coaching during the one-on-one sessions between patient and therapist. These conversations are a fundamental part of the healing process, often releasing both physical and emotional blockages.

It is during these sessions that an organic process emerges, in which deep-seated emotions and sometimes even old traumas can come to the surface. This offers us the opportunity to discuss these emotions and start the processing process. In addition, we can provide insights in a supportive and non-coercive way that can lead the patient to positive changes in behavior and lifestyle.
